Named for what we intend to leave.
Legacy Farm LLC is a small working farm in Williamsburg, Virginia. The name is the assignment: keep the land, the animals, and the habits worth inheriting.
The name
Not a slogan. A duty.
Farms disappear when they are treated as a year. We treat this one as a line. Dexter cows were chosen because they belong on modest acreage — dual-purpose, grass-thrifty, Irish-bred for people who keep a few well. Nigerian goats bring dairy in a size we can handle. Chickens close the loop. The garden feeds the house.
We are not selling a fantasy of country life. We are keeping animals and soil, in public, under a legal name, so the work can last.
